Come out to the historic Akron Civic Theatre this Sunday, Jan. 28 at 2:30pm for a fun University of Akron Percussion Studio showcase concert! Obviously, the steel drum band is performing, but we will also play some West African music and Brazilian Samba Batucada along with some other musical treats. “Just Now” is 7 Mile Isle’s recording of all original music for steel band. From soca to reggae to bossa nova to cha-cha, this album is sure to delight! University of Akron Steelband alums Matt Dudack, Murray Mast, Jeff Babinski, Joe Moxon, Matt Apanius, and Scott Velardo are all featured on this collection of original music.
All proceeds from the sales of this album are donated directly to scholarship programs for the University of Akron percussion studio.
