Change of venue!

our Annual spring concert has been moved to the Goodyear Theater

The concert originally scheduled for EJ Thomas Hall has been relocated to the historic Goodyear Theater at East End in Akron.  Tickets from EJ Thomas will be honored.  This is a general admission event and you can still get tickets here.  Learn more about this very cool venue by clicking here.  We are so excited to see you on Saturday!

    In 1983, the band’s first milestone was achieved by recording the album “Puttin’ the Shoes On!”  In January of 1987, the University of Akron Steel Drum Band became the only ensemble of its kind from the United States to travel to Trinidad and study performance, rehearsal techniques, and style from the masters of the instrument.
